We finally left Denali today after a week of camping. By the way the cost was $77 for a week thats because I qualify as a senior citizen. So its half-price for Grandpa Harry. We drove about 125 miles south to Talkeetna which is an old mining town and part of Alaska's last frontier. It is about 2 blocks of touristy stuff although we did enjoy our walk "through" the town. We had Buffalo Wing flavored pizza (It was excellent) and Ellen bought some fresh bread and cinnamon rolls. We are camping behind the railroad depot. Yes there is a RR station where the "Alaska Limited" unloads the tourists who booked a land excursion on their cruises on Holland-America and Princess.
Tomorrow I hope to meet my daughter's favorite hero in her hometown of Wasilla Alaska, the eminent, beloved, "Paul Revere historian", former mayor of Wasilla and governor of Alaska, your friend and hers, Sarah Palin!!!!!!
That's all folks
