Ah summer vacation!
Home sweet home (below)
Today we visited the dog kennels. This is where they keep the sled dogs during the summer. You couldnot believe how friendly, smart, big and strong these dogs are. Each weighs about 60-80 pounds and a team can pull a ton of supplies over the frozen tundra. During summer they are housed here and they have a pretty good life. They will let you pet them and its really a lot of fun. You get a demonstration of their pulling a sled on wheels. Ellen who is not fond of large dogs even found them to be amazingly docile. I will post the photos tomorrow so come back then to see Ellen petting an 80 pound dog.
